I am in New York this week to give a presentation on "Photoshop Masking & Compositing" at PhotoPlus (this Friday morning 8:45 to 11:45), as well as a presentation at B&H Eventspace, and working with colleagues at the School of Visual Arts. Last night I met with my friend John Reuter, the director of the 20x24 Studio, creators of very large Polaroid prints made with the massive 20x24 camera. There was an exhibition of images at Lincoln Center that they have made with that camera of actor, actresses, directors and filmmakers in connection with film festivals at the center.
Afterwards I wandered around and amused myself by making some iPhone images of the architecture and night views of the city. I came upon Anna and Alyo enjoying a snack in front of the fountain. I liked the way they and their bikes made such perfect silhouettes. After asking if I could photograph them (it's always polite to ask!), I showed them the finished photo, which they really liked. This morning I emailed them a copy. That made it a very "complete" photo experience: a great moment, a cool photo and being able to share it with them.
